Departure toward Santa Rita winery, located in the Maipo valley, the region of Chile's choicest vintages, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Riesling. Chile's best selling label Santa Rita 120, was named after 120 revolutionaries were hidden in the cellars by the vineyard owner, a fervent independent. This lovely hillside vineyard is parts of which are a national monument, overlooks lovely homes and a colonial church. This vineyard holds a mansion dated from 1880 with a nice rose garden inside, a chapel and a subterranean cellar, all of which are still intact and worthy of visiting. Then the trip continue toward Alto Cachapoal valley, here Anakena winery invites you to discover the secrets of winemaking and to enjoy a unique experience in Alto Cachapoal. Situated only 1 hour and 20 minutes from Santiago, our boutique vineyard is open to the public every day of the year (except for December 25th and January 1st). Day 03: F/day Viña del Mar & Valparaiso
Driving towards the central coast crossing the most beautiful and fertile valleys of Curacavà and Casablanca. Upon arriving in Valparaiso, a port christianized by the Spanish in 1536. Climb up, down and around these narrow twisty streets-the city is balanced on some 40 hills-and pause at the water front to watch the ships, boats and fishermen in the bay. The tour proceeds to the heart of the city, the Plaza Sotomayor, a pleasant sanctuary, opposite the Maritime Authority. Inside the plaza is the Monument a los Héroes de Iquique, a memorial for those killed during the War of the Pacific. Just beyond this is Muelle Prat, the pier complete with small crafts market. Then, visit La Sebastiana, a poet Pablo Neruda's homes-turned-museums, and ride one of the city's many elevators, an effective mode of moving about this largely verticle port back at the turn of the century. Lunch included in one of the local restaurant, the perfect opportunity to sample the port's famously fresh fish and seafood. Later in Viña del Mar we will be able to admire its beaches and modern buildings, as well as the well-kept parks and gardens which give this city the pseudonymous of "garden city". Among these parks is Quinta Vergara, internationally known for its musical festival held every year and also for its palace and school of fine arts. Afternoon return to Santiago.
